Who is Desiree??????

Desirée is a keyboard player/singer/songwriter who came to Chicago from a farm in Canada. She was hired by Buddy Guy and worked with him in Europe, Canada and the United States as his keyboardist. They shared the bill with the
likes of Bonnie Raitt, Jeff Healy, John Lee Hooker, George Thourogood, Miles Davis, Etta James, George Benson, Chick Corea......to name a few! She has appeared on television shows like Much Music(Canada), Good Morning America, the German version of Soul Train, Sudwest Funk, and was included in an article about Buddy in Rolling Stone Magazine. She has graced many a stage with other Chicago
favorite Blues Legends as well. While she hid in the shadows, backing other musicians, she dreamed of having her own album.

In order to grow as an artist, Desirée shifted gears and became the musical director for Tony and Tina’s Wedding, the longest running comedy musical in Chicago. Tony and Tina’s Wedding allowed her the flexibility to explore other opportunities. Through the show, she met Frankie Avalon who she later joined on tour. Meanwhile, she also sang in a Latin orchestra, made solo piano-bar appearances, and jumped on every opportunity that came along. This molded her into quite a diverse musician.

Ready for a change from the inconsistency of jumping from show to show and craving to let her creativity flow, Desirée began to take steps towards recording her own material. She agreed to work at a recording studio in exchange for
free studio time. Desirée jumped into the director's chair to produce and engineer the majority of the album herself. She taught friends how to “man the board” while she recorded her vocals and hired others to play bass, drums,
percussion, and guitar. After two years of relentless effort, LUVDEZI's debut album, "Pretty Girl Dreams," was born.

The songs on this album tell many stories. Musically and lyrically, they exhibit a vast spectrum of experiences and influences tied together by Desirée's unique thread. Check out LUVDEZI...and enjoy!
